Growing up, my Granny would start each morning with a cup of coffee. When I would wake up, the house smelled of the delicious aroma of a dark brew. Although I loved the smell, I didn't have an inclination to actually try a sip until I became much older. My love of coffee started with Starbucks in college, however it quickly expanded the more I traveled and the more I learned about the magical coffee bean. I decided to make it a point to try local coffee shops whenever I traveled. If you are a traveler and a coffee lover like me, this list is for you! I have compiled list of my top 10 coffee shops throughout the United States. I am always open to suggestions, so if I missed any, shoot me a message!
The moment we have all been waiting for.... the list that has been 15 years in the making... my TOP 10 all time favorite coffee shops (in no particular order I must add)!
Number 10: Coffee Box, El Paso, TX
I stumbled upon this retro coffee "box" after flying in to El Paso for a weekend to see Jo Koy (hints the hoodie). Based on their website, http://www.elpasocoffeebox.com , they were awarded the best coffee in El Paso 3 years in a row. Not bad Coffee Box, not bad at all!

Number 9: The Daily Drip Coffee and Desserts, Glendale, AZ
Despite living in Glendale and passing by this place a few times, I never had an inclination to stop in. Finally, something told me to just go in and see for yourself what this new coffee shop had to offer. Let me tell you, GAME CHANGER! This coffee shop reminds me of a new shop I stopped in while in Pikesville, Maryland, but with a more extensive menu. From macaroons to crepes, to pecan tarts, this coffee shop has it all! I ended up ordering an iced 16 oz Salted Caramel and a pecan tart. I'll pass on the pecan tart next time, but I am excited to try some other items on their menu.

Number 8: Strayhouse Coffee, Clinton, OK
During a cross country road trip, I had my mother ver off our route so I could try this adorable coffee shop. Located in Clinton, OK, the coffee shop itself felt like I should have had my wedding there! Maybe next time. Anyway, if you ever happen to find yourself in Oklahoma, make the pit stop in Clinton and give it a try!

Number 7: Okie Girls Coffee and Ice Cream, Broken Bow, OK
Since we are talking about Oklahoma coffee shops, I can't forget to mention my first love in Oklahoma, Okie Girls! Oklahoma is really a random place to travel to, but I have so many memories and great times, I highly recommend giving it a try. This wonderful coffee shop is located down the road from many rental cabins in Broken Bow. Not only do they have delicious coffee, but they have my other love, ICE CREAM! Whenever I go to Broken Bow, I have a ritual where I walk to get my coffee in the morning and end the evenings with their ice cream.

(Okie Girls Ice Cream, a must try as well)

Number 5: Bark and Brew, Arizona
You may notice this picture is a bit different than the others; that's because I stumbled upon Bark and Brew at a farmers market in Peoria, AZ. That's right, a good ol food truck, but with COFFEE! Why wouldn't you want to try a coffee food truck with an adorable puppy logo? Based on their website, they are currently are supporting LILY'S PAD RESCUE and REJECTION COLLECTION BOXER RESCUE. So if you see these awesome folks around, stop and grab a drink and support local rescues!

Number 4: Storyville Coffee, Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA
Visiting Seattle, there's so many things to do and places to visit. Thanks to Seattle, I developed a love for Pete's Coffee. Although Storyville isn't quite Pete's, I loved the adorable ambiance this coffee shop has to offer. A great pit stop, upstairs, to relax, take a break, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee, especially after a rainy day.

Number 3: Baltimore Coffee and Tea, Hanover, MD
This is the go to spot if you're looking for an array of Coffee and tea. Although there are several locations throughout Maryland, I happen to like the Hanover location the most. Also, try some lunch while you're there!

Number 2: Black Rock Coffee Bar
The ONLY chain coffee to make my list. If I had to choose between Dunkin or Starbucks, I would pick Dunkin. But if you put Blackrock on that list, I am taking Blackrock coffee any day! My go to, The Blackout.
Number 1: Fresh Brewed Coffee at home using my French Press
Last, but not least, my list wouldn't be complete without a cup of fresh brewed coffee from home. During breaks and weekends, I thoroughly enjoy boiling water in my kettle, grinding my coffee beans, setting a timer, and smelling my coffee brew in my kitchen. Once my coffee is ready, I open up my current read, plop in my papasan chair, open my window and enjoy the moment. (Also, it's a great way to use my massive amounts of coffee mugs).
